Kids Robotics Camp - Tuesday, Sept 27, 2022
Sunset Spark is opening their creative studio on school holidays during the 2022-23 school year for kids camps and other special events. With recent DOE budget cuts, these camps and workshop are serving as very necessary fundraisers for our programs at public schools in Sunset Park.
For the September Robotics Kids Camps, kids will learn about robotics with a focus on nature. Students will build multiple Lego robots inspired by nature. Each robot has an accompanying lesson to learn how engineers find inspiration from nature for real world robots. Weather permitting, kids will also go on a nature walk with outdoor science and engineering activities.
- The camp is Tuesday, Sept 27, 2022.
- The camp runs from 9am-3pm.
- 2nd-5th grade students
- Limited to 9 kids
- Pizza and snacks provided (or bring your own)
- Drop off and pickup at our studio in Industry City
- Build Lego robots (Sorry, robots can't be taken home)
- Non-refundable

As a 501(c)(3) org, a portion of your registration fee serves as a tax-deductible donation for our technology programs in the community. Between the post-pandemic recession and DOE budget cuts, 2022 has been a difficult year for our organization. All of our programs have been free for families since our start 10 years ago. Until this year, we have never charged families to participate in our programs. Sunset Spark is in critical need of donations to continue our high quality programs at schools in the community.
The camps are taught by Yadira and Gaelen Hadlett. They have taught creative technology to over 25,000 students in Sunset Park over the last 10 years.
